An initial staged reading of The Birthday Lottery, attended by 35 people and produced by the Dramatist Guild of New York, was conducted at The Phoenix Theater in San Francisco, on 4 November 2017. The reading was directed by Suze Allen, bay area representative for the Dramatist Guild and founder of Three Girls Theater Company.
A non-AEA, workshop production of The Birthday Lottery, also directed by Suze Allen, was held at Z Space, San Francisco’s Premiere Theater for New Works, March 29-April 1, 2018. The workshop performance, collectively attended by 584 people, led to a rewrite of scene four, followed by a second staged reading by the Playwright Center of San Francisco on 29 May 2018.
